My name is Heather Thornton , my husband Josh, and our son Cage all live in Carson City, Nv. I had the pleasure of growing up in the area. In the winter its all about snowboarding and skiing, and in the summer we enjoy camping in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area.

I found the love for woodburning by chance. My Mother in law's b-day was approaching and we were short on money, I remembered my mom saying that she had a woodburner and never got a chance to use it. So, I decided to attempt my first portrait of Cage.

It was with a set-temperature burner, on scrap wood from the construction going on at our house. I decided to make one for each set of Great Grandpartents as well.

With every new piece I burned, the more I fell in love with Pyrography. The different textures of the wood, the smell, the patterns and the life you can give to an image mixed in the grains of wood and nature.

With the house under construction the burner mysteriously disappeared. We searched for about a week, then I ordered a variable temperature machine. I noticed the difference immediantly it gave me the chance to give even more depth and life to my portraits.

With the skill of using both types of burners, I have created a unique style of shading that will give your pictures a three dimensional finish, and the life that they deserve.

Josh saw how much I was enjoying woodburning, and had to put his hand in it as well. He definitely enjoys the skulls.
